Tenth anniversary of Hortus Ostuni, next weekend’s autumn edition presented
The intensity and beauty of the autumn colors, added to those of last May, when the spring session was celebrated, will give success to the tenth anniversary of Hortus Ostuni, the market exhibition that since its debut has proved to be not only an unmissable event for lovers of greenery and gardens but also a stage for beauty and peculiarities, but also a privileged offer of knowledge paths for the protection of the well-being of the planet.
“The success of Hortus Ostuni is determined by the fact that the decade of events also marks the ten years of a community, which has been formed around this event, the community of Hortus, in fact, which shares values related to sustainability and good living, considering everything that revolves around living in the open air – said Pierangelo Argentieri, president of Hortus Puglia -. The first and only event in Puglia and beyond, which carries on the themes related to greenery, from the vegetable garden to the garden to self-produced food, in this edition – he added – we will continue to reflect on who and what we were and what we have become. Of course, we will also talk about self-produced food – he continued -, because it is the only certainty we have to eat healthy things net of any certifications, but we will remain true to ourselves because we must reflect and remain “light” in considering the fundamental issues: it is what makes the difference between need and false need”.
To unleash the numbers of the autumn edition of Hortus Ostuni, the vice president of Hortus Puglia, Alma Sammarco: «What we are about to experience is really a special edition – she said -. We will have a nice group of over 50 exhibitors from more than 10 regions of Italy, with plants of all kinds. We will have roses in abundance, ancient and modern; tropical, subtropical and citrus plants, succulents and rarities. If one of the certainties is the presence, from the very first hour, of numerous realities and the magazine “Gardenia” – he continued – an absolute novelty comes this year from Lake Maggiore with an orchid nurseryman who will tell his experience because we have often had requests for a space specifically dedicated to these plants and this is a good start. But thanks to the synergies with the University, the associations in the sector, the production realities there will be workshops and meetings not to be missed – he continued -, with current events always at the center of our discussions, whether it is, for example, xylella or climate change or self-produced food. It will be three intense days, really not to be missed».
And on Friday 1 November in the afternoon it starts in the splendid and unique setting of the Villa “Sandro Pertini”, a very worthy location of Hortus Ostuni, which concludes the two editions of the Tenth Anniversary with a bang.
